Jeanne Hopkins:
It seems obvious that print is becoming past tense, especially in the business environment. There is just too much mail coming across people's desks for them to focus on any one piece. All the documentation makes it difficult to save and, when it is saved, you still have to wade through all the other pieces of physical information to find it. With email it is much simpler. It goes directly into somebody's inbox and they can just create a new folder in which to store it. Then, when they want it, all they have to do is go to that folder. So email newsletters are easier for the readers? Without question. They are also much easier on those of us who create them. The electronic form is easier to manipulate and changes can be made much more quickly and inexpensively. Email newsletters got down on a lot of waste - resources such as paper are saved as well as resources such as time. I know, as someone who has been creating newsletters throughout my entire career, that email newsletters are a real time-saver when compared with printed ones. What do you think of the way email newsletters look on the monitor? I like the HTML look very much. It is very easier to refer to specific stories and the pace feels very fast. They are just really very visually appealing and this helps people get the content quickly. It is all part of the instantaneous aspect of the Internet. The newsletters just help take that to another level. What led you to choose iMakeNews? I had wanted to send our newsletter in email format for about 9 months but it wasn’t until I found iMakeNews that I saw a Datum solution. The ease of use of the system made it a hands-down winner for me. I was able to take advantage of their 30-day free trial and get comfortable with how it worked. That was very important. I don't like to purchase things that I can't experience first, and I appreciated their willingness to let me 'kick the tires.' After I tried it, I knew it would do the trick. What is your experience with the iMakeNews service like? Extremely positive. iMakeNews has given me a very good product that I’m really happy with. The level of customer support, from the owners down to my individual salesperson, has just been incredible. They take a lot of time to give very personalized, individual attention and that was important to me as I was learning the system. Because of how easy their system is to use, and through the support they offered, I was able to have my first issue up, running, and delivered in four weeks. How do you find the iMakeNews management features? They are great! The bounce feature is very valuable to me. It makes it easy for me to send the emails, knowing that the bad addresses will be captured by the system and I won't have to go through and manually process them myself. In all, I've found list management to be incredibly easy, almost instantaneous, because of the iMakeNews features. Any final thoughts? Without any doubt, compared to the print newsletters I was doing, the iMakeNews system has saved time. With leaner budgets and human resources, this gives me an ability to get more things done. The comments from customers have been very positive and people are contacting us without our having to do additional outreach. This is something both our marketing and sales departments are enjoying. |
